Pic. 1 Exporting Phonebook

The SMSgee software support exporting the contact Phonebook to CSV(Comma Delimited) format.

To export to the contact phonebook, follow these steps.

1. Click Import/Export >> Phonebook >> Export to File .

2. When the save dialog box shows up save the file.

To activating the License of PC SMS Bulk Sender the steps are.

• Click Help>>About on Main Menu.
• Click Register to show the Register form.
• Insert the Serial Number, User Name and organization, then click OK. Restart the application after activating license.

Create SMS profile to overried the default option settings when create new SMS.

• Flash SMS

Displaying SMS message directly on the mobile phone recipient.

• Long SMS

Enabled this option to send SMS more that one fragment.(maximum character for 1 fragment depend on character encoding , 7 bit GSM 160 character , 8 bit ASCII 140 character, 16 bit Unicode 80 character).

• Use variable

Enabled this option to create customize SMS based on recipient data on phonebook.

• Status request

Enabled this option to receive SMS Delivery report. (not supported by all device, only Nokia & Siemens device only).

• Request reply

Enabled this option to request the reply from the recipient.
   

• Use Custom SMSC Number

Customize SMS centre(SMSC) number for the SMS.

• Validity Period

Customize validity period of the SMS.

• Character Encoding

Customize the character encoding of the SMS.

• GSM 7 bit: GSM character, maximum character 160 per SMS.
• ASCII 8 bit: ASCII character, maximum character 140 per SMS.
• UNICODE 16 bit: Unicode character, maximum character 80 per SMS.

• Priority

The priority of the SMS on Outbox Queue.

• Send max retry

The maximum retry when sending SMS to SMS centre before considered failed.

The GUI settings manage the option for the application Text and Paragraph , Icont and Notification and SMS Database Refresh.

To Accessing the GUI settings, click the "Settings" on the Main Menu Icon, then select the "GUI Settings" tab.

Customize the paragraph alignment.
 

• Icon and Event Notification 

• Minimize application to tray icon.

Enable this option to make the form not visible in the taskbar. 

• Display event notification on tray event

Enable this option to show the event notification when device connected/disconnected and new SMS received 

• Play sound on event notification

Enable this option to play sound when event notification is shown.

• SMS database refresh 

• Refresh intervally

Enable this option to intervally refresh interval of the SMS list on GUI.

• Refresh when SMS database record changed

Enable this option to refresh the SMS list on GUI when the SMS database changed

• Default Device for new/reply SMS

Setting the default device for sending new SMS and reply SMS
 

• Phonebook

Phonebook store contact information Contact and Group of Contact.

• Contact

To support creating custom SMS message, SMSgee software support contact detail beside Contact Name and Mobile Number.

• Group

Grouping Contact into group of contact. Very useful for simplify creating recipient list when creating new SMS.

• SMS Database

The SMSgee software data like SMS, Phonebook and Device Settings are stored on SQL Server Database. The Connection between application and the database using ADO(OLE DB), if the ADO driver for the database is not available connection using ADo to ODBC (OLE DB provider for ODBC Drivers).

• SMS Database Connection Settings

SMS Database Connection Settings available on the Settings on the leftmost tab of application Settings

• Database Connection Settings parameter

The Database Connection Settings parameter are:

• Connection String;
• Connection timeout;
• Command timeout.

• Format SMS Database

Use this feature to  delete the SMS contain on some folder.

•     INBOX

    Contain received SMS.
   

•     OUTBOX

    Contain SMS that will be sent to SMS centre.
 

•     ARCHIVE

    Contain SMS that has been trying to sent to SMS centre.
 

•     STATUS REPORT

    Contain status report of the SMS that has been sent.
 

•     DRAFT

    Contain SMS draft. The SMS draft automatically deleted when the SMS is send to outbox.
 

•     TEMPLATE

    Contain SMS template.
   

•     DELETED

    Contain SMS that has been deleted.
 

SMSgee software support importing from phonebook from external source.

1. Phone/Modem.

1. Importing phonebok from Phone/Modem

• Click Import/Export >>Phonebook>>Import>>From Phone on Taskbar Main Menu.
• Wait for few minutes for importing contact from Phonebook.

2. Importing phonebok from File

• Click Import/Export >>Phonebook>>Import>>From File on Taskbar Main Menu.
• Select CSV(*.CSV) or MS Excel File (*.XLS) file. (Note : CSV Files is Comma Delimiter files, see example on picture 1)
• Set Field Link.
• Click Import to add contact from Phonebook.

3. Importing phonebok from SQL Database

• Click Import/Export >>Phonebook>>Import>>From Database on Taskbar Main Menu.
• Set Data Link Propertied (Provider, Connection).
• Set Field Link.
• Click Import to add contact from Phonebook.

4. Importing phonebok from Outlook

• Click Import/Export >>Phonebook>>Import>>From Outlook on Taskbar Main Menu.
• Set Data Link Propertied (Provider, Connection).
• Set Field Link.
• Click Import to add contact from Phonebook.

1.Introduction

The SMSgee software using OLE-DB interface to communicating with the external database.

Most Database have OLE-DB driver (picture 1) , if the Database doesn't have any OLE-DB driver, could be using ODBC driver to mediate between Database and OLE DB Interface(picture 2) , for example : MySQL

2. Setup Database Connection Settings

2.1 Microsoft Access

1. Select Microsoft Jet OLE DB Provider On Data Link Properties.

2. Set the directory & filename of the microsoft access database. If the database file(*.mdb) located on the remote computer, make sure the folder is shared.

2.2Oracle

1. Select "Microsoft OLE DB Driver Provider for Oracle" on Data Link Properties.

2. Set the database connection property.

2.3 SQL Server

1. Select "Microsoft OLE DB Driver Provider for SQL Server" on Data Link Properties.

2. Set the database connection property.

2.4 MySQL

Setting Data Source (ODBC)

1. Since the OLE DB Provider for MySQL is not available, the ODBC connection should be created. Install the MySQL ODBC Driver, the installer could be downloaded from MySQL website.

2. Open Data Source (ODBC) on Windows >>Control Panel >> Administrative Tools

3. Add new System DSN using MySQL ODBC Driver

Database Settings on SMSgee Software

1. Select "Microsoft OLE DB Driver Provider for ODBC Drivers" on Data Link Properties.

2. Set the database connection property.

PC SMS Gateway Server software is secured using Softwrap Digital Rights Management. The PC SMS Gateway Server installer is both for trial version and full version, to get the full version the license should be activated.

If you have purchased the license , these are the steps for activating the license : 

1. Run the PC SMS Gateway Server .The activation process need connecting the DRM server, make sure the PC is connected to Internet.and when using  windows firewall make sure the exception should be included for the PC SMS Gateway Server. The PC SMS Gateway Installer could be downloaded from here

2. Select "Activate new installation"

3. Select "Re-install Existing License"

4. Insert license holder(e-mail address) & purhase reference. Then click next.

5. If the license holder(e-mail address) & purchase reference is correct the activation process should be done.
